Drone unit will be formed in Bihar Police

State Bureau, Patna. Bihar Police is now preparing to make law and order and traffic control more stringent with the help of modern technology. For the first time in the state, a separate drone unit of Bihar Police will be formed, which will not only monitor crowd control and security arrangements, but will also take action against those who break traffic rules. Traffic violators will be issued challan through drones.

50 drones will be purchased, likely to start by March

In the press conference held at the police headquarters, ADG Modernization Sudhanshu Kumar said that a total of 50 drones will be purchased for the drone unit. Of these, 40 drones will be given to 40 police districts of the state, so that law and order monitoring and traffic management can be strengthened at the district level.

The remaining 10 drones will be made available to the Special Task Force (STF) for special operations. He said that the drone unit is likely to be activated by the month of March.

Drones will play an important role in traffic monitoring

The ADG said that by using drone technology, a strict vigil will now be kept on those violating traffic rules on the roads.

Drivers without helmets, driving in the wrong lane, breaking signals and creating traffic jams will be identified through drone cameras. After this, challan action will be taken against the concerned vehicle owners.

Keep a close eye on crowd control and law and order

With the help of drone units, there will be a lot of convenience in crowd control and maintaining law and order in big events, festivals and sensitive areas.

Live monitoring of the entire area can be done from the height, which will help the police in taking quick decisions and sending forces immediately if needed.

Keep an eye on criminals in remote and inaccessible areas

The drones given to STF will be used especially to keep an eye on organized criminals operating in Diara and remote areas.

ADG said that police reach is limited in such areas, but effective monitoring of the activities of criminals will be possible through drones.

Use of technology will increase in policing

With the formation of the drone unit, the functioning of Bihar Police will become more technology based. This is expected to give new strength to crime control, traffic system and safety of common people.
