In Theog area of Shimla, hundreds of people came out on the streets against drug addiction on the call of Jagdar Yuva Manch Theog.
I can no longer tolerate playing with the future
Yuva Manch has given a clear message in the huge public meeting that playing with the future of the youth will no longer be tolerated. President of the forum, Arun Chandel said that the speed with which the roots of drug addiction are spreading in the area has taken away the sleep of parents and the peace of the villages. The happiness of many families has been ruined, while there is an atmosphere of fear and insecurity in many homes.
In such a situation, this movement is emerging not just as a protest but as a call for survival. This campaign is getting the support of many voluntary organizations, social organizations and local artists. The organizers say that this is not a program of any organization, but a movement of the people, in which the role of every aware citizen is important.
Demand bluntly from administration and government
The youth have said in clear words that strictest action should be taken against those involved in smuggling of chittas. Speedy investigation, fast track trial and strict punishment should be ensured. Besides, a demand has also been raised to strengthen the surveillance and intelligence system on border areas and major routes.
