Enraged after the controversial statement, Congressmen demonstrated in Chaughanpata. Effigies of cabinet ministers Rekha Arya and Sahu were burnt.
On the occasion, Congress District President Bhupendra Bhoj said that under the protection of BJP's power, a disgusting mentality of treating women as objects is growing among their leaders and family members. This statement of Sahu is an insult to the entire women's society. He said that the BJP government is silent, which makes it clear that it supports this mentality.
Said that in Bihar, girls can be found for Rs 20,000 to 25,000. This statement is not only a grave insult to the women's society but it also crushes the dignity of the daughters of the entire country. Congressmen demanded that Rekha Arya should immediately apologize publicly and the BJP leadership should clarify whether it agreed with this statement or not. MLA Manoj Tiwari said that the statement of the minister's husband is a slap on the BJP's Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao slogans. Said that there is a big difference between the words and actions of BJP.
