Digital Desk, Gwalior. Once again a reassuring news has emerged from Kuno National Park located in Sheopur of the state. Recently, the female cheetah Gamini had given birth to not three but four cubs. Recently Gamini was seen with all four cubs. With this new cub, the total number of leopards in the country has increased to 39. The special thing is that this good news has come just a day before the arrival of eight leopards from Botswana to Kuno. Due to this, both the enthusiasm and confidence in Kuno has doubled.

Union Minister shared information

Union Environment, Forest and Climate Change Minister Bhupendra Yadav shared this information through social media. The presence of the fourth cub was confirmed during intensive monitoring by field staff and veterinarians on Friday, he said. At present Gamini and her four cubs are completely healthy and developing normally.

Three cubs on February 18, now fourth confirmed

Earlier on February 18, there was news of Gamini giving birth to three cubs. Due to continuous tracking, camera monitoring and vigilance of the field staff, now the fourth cub could be confirmed. According to forest department officials, in the initial days the cub lives in a dense area, hence each cub is confirmed with time.

The ground team monitored while maintaining distance, so that the mother and the cubs do not face any kind of stress. This is the reason why all the cubs are said to be safe and active.

Third consignment from Botswana, 8 leopards will arrive on Saturday

This week is very important for Kuno. 8 leopards are scheduled to reach Kuno from Botswana on Saturday, February 28. This will be the third batch of leopards coming from abroad. Earlier, cheetahs have been brought to India from Namibia and South Africa.

According to the latest figures, there are now 39 leopards in the country. Of these, 28 cubs were born in India only. This is a clear indication that the environment, security system and scientific management of Kuno is proving favorable for cheetahs.

Growing family, growing responsibility

The field staff is engaged in 24-hour monitoring. Every activity is being monitored through drones, camera traps and foot tracking. Officials say the goal is not just to increase numbers, but to give cheetahs a sustainable and secure future.
