Jagran correspondent, Gurugram. Three people from Palwal together defrauded a person from Gurugram to the tune of Rs 18 crore in the name of selling 11 acres of agricultural land. After getting the money, the accused sold their house and absconded. When the victim reached to take possession of the land, he came to know of the fraud. On the complaint of the victim, Economic Offenses Wing II, after investigation, registered a case in Sector 40 police station of Gurugram.
Kapil Sharma, a resident of Silokhra village of Gurugram, said in the complaint that he had sold his land in August 2024, from which he got some money. After a few days, three people came to him. One claimed to be an officer of a company and two claimed to be the owner of the land.
Said that he has 11 acres of agricultural land in Ghughera village of Palwal. He wants to sell his land. The accused showed the land papers and Jamabandi to Kapil. In August itself, Kapil was shown 11 acres of land in Ghughera. After Kapil Sharma agreed to buy the land, the entire deal was finalized for around Rs 18 crore.
In August itself, the accused prepared the agreement to sale with Kapil. After the sale agreement was ready, the accused took Rs 12 crore from Kapil Sharma. After this the accused pressurized him to give the remaining money. Said that after receiving the money he would complete the other papers and the possession would be given.
After a few days, Kapil also gave the remaining amount to the accused. When Kapil Sharma tried to contact the accused due to lack of registration on time, he found their number switched off. After this, when he reached the house of the accused, he got information that they had sold the property and left from there. When he went to the land for which he had made a deal, he found out that the accused were not the real owners of the land.
The accused had cheated them by preparing fake documents. Now a case has been registered against three people in Gurugram's Sector 40 police station under various sections including fraud. The police station and the Economic Offenses Wing are investigating.
