Jagran correspondent, Meerut. A bloody clash broke out between two parties in Ambedkar Nagar located in Madhavpuram over the protest against taking over the land of a religious place. Four people including two women from one side were injured in the conflict. The police admitted the injured to the district hospital. From where the condition of two youths was critical and they were referred to the Medical College Hospital. Meanwhile, the police have detained seven people from both sides. The entire incident of assault was captured in the CCTV installed there.
Guddi, a resident of Ambedkar Nagar of Brahmapuri police station area, told that a temple is built in her locality. Due to the low position of the temple, it gets filled with water during rains. Due to which the temple was closed for a long time. It is alleged that five shops are also built on the temple land. These shops are occupied by a person living in the same locality and he also collects their rent. The victim told that a week ago the women of the locality had collected donations to make the temple higher. Due to which all those women were cleaning the temple on Tuesday night.
It is alleged that during this time the accused came there with his five children and beat them up. After which people from both the sides came face to face and started fighting with sticks. Guddi, Rajesh, Anuj and Sonu were injured in the fight. The police admitted the injured to the district hospital. From where Anuj and Sonu were referred to the Medical College Hospital.
Police station in-charge Ramakant Pachauri says that a complaint has been received from Guddi's side. Seven people from both sides have been detained through CCTV footage. A case will be registered after investigation.
