IND Vs PAK Match To Be Held On 15th February? Rajeev Shukla Clears Picture On Pakistan's 'boycott'

What did Rajeev Shukla say on IND vs PAK match?

Sports Desk, New Delhi. Rajeev Shukla on IND vs PAK Match: Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Vice President Rajeev Shukla has given his first reaction to the news claiming that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is preparing to take a U-turn on the decision to boycott the match from India in the T20 World Cup 2026 through back-channel talks.

PCB has again started talks with the International Cricket Council (ICC) in this matter. Shukla has clarified the position of BCCI on this entire controversy and possible changes. He said that whatever decision the ICC takes, we will accept it.

What did Rajeev Shukla say on IND vs PAK match?

Actually, the Pakistani government had given permission to the team to participate in the T-20 World Cup to be held in India and Sri Lanka. Although, it had instructed the team not to take the field against the Indian team in the group match at R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on February 15, but after the Pakistan government's decision to boycott the match against India, there have been reports that a U-turn is possible. Some reports have claimed that the match can be played. Amidst all this, BCCI President Rajiv Shukla has given his reaction on this and left the decision to ICC.

When Shukla was asked by journalists about the news of PCB reconsidering its boycott decision, he said,

I will not comment on all these issues, nor will I comment on behalf of BCCI. Everything has been handed over to ICC. Whatever decision or judgment the ICC gives, we will follow it. We have completely handed over this matter to ICC.

Meeting between ICC and PCB in Lahore

On 8 February 2026, ICC directors Imran Khawaja and Mubashir Usmani had reached Lahore for talks with PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi, where Bangladesh Cricket Board President Aminul Islam was also present. All three met at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, from which it is believed that the final decision on the India-Pakistan match would have been taken.

According to a Cricbuzz report, which cites unverified information, the PCB has made some demands. For example, the board wants to increase its share in ICC revenue, wants to resume bilateral cricket with India, and also wants to implement the handshake policy. Both sides are trying to find a solution and back-channel talks are going on.
