Jagran correspondent, Azamgarh. Intermediate and high school board examinations are going to start in the district from 18th February. But the round of allegations and counter-allegations in the District School Inspector's office is far from over.

These days, the issue of two DIOS sitting in the same room in the District School Inspector's office has become a topic of discussion. The war for the chair in the secondary education department of the district has come to the fore. DIOS Upendra Kumar, who returned to office after a month's leave, took charge again, but the activity of in-charge DIOS Virendra Pratap Singh still remains like that of the District School Inspector.

Due to which there is a situation of confusion between the employees and teachers of the department. After Upendra Kumar went on medical leave, Virendra Pratap Singh was given the responsibility of in-charge DIOS. The situation did not return to normal when Upendra Kumar returned from leave on January 24.

It is discussed that Virendra Pratap Singh called a meeting of office workers and gave clear instructions that no file should be signed by Upendra Kumar and all the work should be done through him only. Since then, there is confusion among the departmental employees as to who is the statutory DIOS and whose orders should be followed.

As a result, disposal of files is being affected and important administrative decisions are hanging in the balance. In this regard, Joint Education Director Naval Kishore clarified that Upendra Kumar has not given any information to the District Magistrate about taking charge after returning from leave. For this reason, the responsibility of DIOS has still been handed over to Virendra Pratap Singh.

The question is that when Upendra Kumar is present in the office and claiming to take charge, how are parallel orders being issued in the department? This situation of two DIOS not only exposes administrative negligence, but is also raising questions on the functioning of the entire Secondary Education Department. Now it remains to be seen when the top officials of the education department will put an end to this chair war, or else this conflict will bring the departmental work to a complete halt.
