Jagran correspondent, Varanasi. With the success of the land pulling scheme implemented in IT City and Wellness City in Lucknow, approval has been given in the Varanasi Development Authority Board to implement it in Banaras also. Along with developing the land of farmers in Lucknow, 25 percent land was returned.

At the same time, in Kashi, 30 percent more land will be returned to the farmers by five percent. Under the land pulling scheme, VDA will develop and provide paved roads, sewer, water, electricity and parks. The government has released Rs 200 crore for Madhani New Township Scheme.

Earlier, Rs 200 crore was released for Kashi Sports City. Both the schemes have been brought on the initiative of the Chief Minister. Apart from this, Kallipur Township project is proposed. VDA Vice President has been given special authority to change land use under the land pulling scheme.

To save the land of farmers from private developers, against the frauds being done to them and to give good price for the land, the government brought the Land Pulling Scheme to prominence but the farmers were not ready to give their land. Farmers alleged that after developing their land, 25 percent is being returned which is very less. Even after talking to the farmers, it was decided that 30 percent of the entire land should be returned along with an increase of five percent so that they can get maximum benefits.

In this model the farmer gives his land to the development authority. The authority will develop the entire land in a planned manner.

50 percent developed land model: In this model, 50 percent developed land is given to the farmer/landowner after partially developing the land. This option is especially for farmers with 10 acres or more of land.

If the farmer does not want to participate in the land pulling scheme, he will not be forced. Such farmers can also sell their land directly to the Varanasi Development Authority, in which the valuation of the land will be given on the basis of four times the circle rate. This rate is much more secure and reliable than the general market.
