Capital Patna wrapped in fog
Jagran correspondent, Patna. The capital was engulfed in dense fog since morning. White mist spread from sky to earth and covered the entire city in its blanket. Tall buildings, roads and even trees and plants were lost in the fog as if the city had transformed into a mysterious picture. Visibility remained very low in the morning, which had a deep impact on normal life.
Due to fog, the speed of vehicles on the roads of the capital came to a halt. Drivers were seen driving very cautiously on main roads with headlights on. Visibility was reduced to 20 to 30 meters in many areas, due to which people going to office in the morning had to face a lot of trouble. School going children and office going employees also had to leave late.
Rail and air traffic were also affected by fog. The operation of many trains passing through the capital was affected and some trains left for their destinations late. At the same time, caution was taken in operating flights at the airport also. According to the Meteorological Department, along with fog, an increase in cold has also been recorded, due to which people have started resorting to warm clothes.
The effect of fog was clearly visible from the higher reaches of the city to the residential localities. Water tanks placed on rooftops, neighboring buildings and trees standing in the distance appeared blurred in the haze. The number of people taking morning strolls was also seen less. The humidity along with the cold wind further increased the feeling of cold.
Weather experts say that there is dense fog in North India due to active western disturbance and drop in temperature at night. There is a possibility of fog in the capital and surrounding areas in the morning for the coming few days. Along with this, people have been advised to remain alert and avoid unnecessary travel.
The administration has also appealed to the drivers to be careful, drive slowly and use fog lights. Experts believe that in this period of cold and fog, it is important to take special care of health, especially the elderly and children.
While on one hand the fog covered capital highlighted the severity of the weather, on the other hand it turned the city into a calm, hazy and different picture. However, this beauty also brings with it the need for caution and vigilance.
