Major action by Koraput police, hashish oil worth Rs 200 crore and ganja worth Rs 5 crore seized

Dialogue Associate, Sambalpur. Koraput District Police of South Odisha has got a big success. The police have achieved a major success by busting several temporary production units of an inter-provincial hashish oil manufacturing company running in the district.
In this police operation, more than 1800 liters of hashish oil was seized. Its estimated market value is said to be around Rs 200 crore. Along with this, the police have also seized more than 1143 kg of ganja, the estimated value of which is said to be around Rs 5 crore.
According to South-West Range Police DIG Kanwar Vishal Singh and Koraput District Superintendent of Police Rohit Verma, during the operation the police also seized equipment from several makeshift hashish oil production units.
It has been told that these illegal units were operating in the forest area near Jholaput Reservoir under Padua police station located on the Odisha-Andhra Pradesh border. The raid was conducted on the basis of proper intelligence under the leadership of Koraput District Superintendent of Police Rohit Verma.
The police team reached the place secretly by boat and on foot instead of by road. It has been told by the police that the main accused in the case have been identified and they will be arrested soon. There is preliminary evidence that there is an interregional link in the making of hashish oil.
Padua police are investigating the incident. Koraput District Superintendent of Police Verma said that the investigation is ongoing, so more information will be given later. In the ganja seizure case, two suspects from Haryana and two from Koraput have been detained and interrogation is underway.
