Mahashivratri on 15th. Preparations going on in temples.
Jagran correspondent, Chandigarh. Preparations are going on in temples for Mahashivratri. On this auspicious occasion, meat shops in the city will remain closed on Sunday. The Municipal Corporation Administration has clarified that this decision has been taken in view of the religious importance of Mahashivratri.
All license holders, shopkeepers, vendors and related parties involved in slaughter of animals and sale of meat in the Municipal Corporation area have been instructed to keep their establishments completely closed on February 15.
Action can be taken as per rules against those who violate this order. The Medical Officer of Health of the Municipal Corporation has issued orders in this regard.
A copy of the order has also been sent to the concerned officials and the superintendent of the slaughter house, so that all meat sellers can be informed about it and compliance with the order can be ensured.
