PDA has now decided to return the amount along with interest to the allottees as per the rules. This decision will give a big blow to about eight thousand allottees.
Adjustment of amount paid
An advertisement in this regard has also been published by PDA on Friday. If allottees who have purchased land in PDA housing schemes wish to purchase land in a new housing scheme instead of taking back the amount paid, then the amount already paid will be adjusted.
Could not get possession till date
More than 800 people who bought land in residential schemes like Dev Prayagam Jhalwa, Neem Saraya, Ganga Darshan Housing Scheme, Teliarganj, Shantipuram, Kalindipuram etc. have not been able to get the possession till date. Giving relief to the allottees, three years ago, more than 100 people were given plots at another location by PDA under Mission Sangam.

People are angry with this decision
However, due to the indifference of the officials in the housing scheme of PDA, the decision of not giving land in exchange to the people who bought the land 20 to 22 years ago will increase the resentment among the people. PDA officials say that in the housing scheme, many people buy land at cheap prices and save it at expensive prices, which causes financial loss to PDA. Where land allottees have been registered by PDA, if there is no dispute then they will be given possession.

PDA Vice President Rishiraj says that where people have purchased plots, if there is no dispute then they will be given possession. Land will not be provided at another location in exchange for the land. The PDA will refund the amount along with interest to the allottees who do not get possession after purchasing the land in PDA's housing scheme.
