State-of-the-art Banana Tissue Culture Lab Will Be Built In Kushinagar, Approval Of Rs 4.01 Crore Received For The Project

State Bureau, Lucknow. Tissue culture lab will be established in Kushinagar to connect banana cultivation with scientific method. The state government has sanctioned an amount of Rs 4.01 crore for this. With this, improved quality banana seedlings will be available to the farmers. Farmers will also be given training in modern agricultural methods through the lab.

Agriculture Minister Surya Pratap Shahi said that out of the sanctioned amount for the establishment of Banana Tissue Culture Lab at the Government Potato Farm at Kasya in Kushinagar, Rs 2.23 crore has been allocated for construction work and Rs 1.78 crore has been allocated for machinery and equipment.

Who got the responsibility of construction?

The responsibility of construction works has been handed over to Uttar Pradesh State Construction Cooperative Union Limited. Through the lab, high quality disease free plants will be available locally. At present farmers had to depend on other states or remote areas for improved plants.

Apart from this, a provision of Rs 70.86 lakh has also been made for additional components of the Center of Excellence Potato in Kasya itself. Thousands of farmers in and around Kushinagar will directly benefit from the development of these facilities.
