High Alert Before Mahashivratri And Holi In Muzaffarpur, DJ Will Be Banned

Jagran correspondent, Muzaffarpur. DM Subrata Kumar Sen and SSP Kantey Kumar Mishra conducted a detailed review regarding the law and order during Mahashivratri.

Both the officers issued a joint order and directed to depute adequate number of magistrates and police officials.

It was told in the meeting that a total of 27 processions are proposed in both the sub-divisions. The District Magistrate directed to review the processions at the police station level and ensure prior permission, route chart and time limit for each procession.

He said that there will be a complete ban on DJ equipment. If any person or committee uses it then FIR will be registered. Magistrates and police officials were instructed to be present at the designated place on time and keep a constant eye on law and order.

Safety standards should be strictly followed

Instructions were given to ensure strict adherence to safety standards in events like fairs, tableaux, processions and the well of death. They were asked to install CCTV cameras as per requirement and do continuous monitoring.

While effectively monitoring the processions, instructions were given to keep a close watch on mischievous and anti-social elements and to take immediate strict action in case of any disturbance.

A warning was also given to take strict action against those spreading rumors or misleading information on internet media. In view of the events taking place near the reservoirs, Additional Collector (Disaster Management) was instructed to ensure deployment of boats and divers as per requirement.

In view of Holi, intensify raids for confiscation of liquor.

Keeping Holi in mind, the District Magistrate directed the Police Department and the Prohibition Department to jointly conduct an intensive raid campaign. Special emphasis was laid on seizure of illegal liquor, arrest of the accused and ensuring lawful destruction of the seized liquor.

He said that effective implementation of the prohibition law is the priority of the government and any laxity in it will not be tolerated. Instructions were given to keep special vigil on border areas and sensitive places.
