Dead sheep lying in the enclosure after dog attack in village Chadharua

Jagran correspondent, Mainpuri. A pack of dogs attacked the sheep kept in the enclosure in Chadhraua village of Elau police station area on Thursday night. 38 sheep died in the attack, while five were injured. The villagers who heard the sound somehow chased away the dogs.

The injured sheep are being treated by the team of Animal Husbandry Department. After conducting the post-mortem on the complaint of the cattle rearer, the police dug a pit and buried the dead sheep.

Ajit Kumar, resident of Chadhraua village of Elau police station area, supports his family by rearing sheep and goats. Like everyday, on Thursday night too the sheep were tied in the enclosure outside the house. Then around 12 o'clock in the night, a group of dogs entered the enclosure and attacked the sheep.

The dogs were scratching and eating and the sheep were screaming. Hearing the sound, Ajit reached there and raised an alarm and called the villagers. The villagers somehow drove the dogs away from there. After this, when Ajit went to the enclosure and saw, 38 sheep were lying dead there.

While five were found injured. On receiving information, the team of local police and animal husbandry department reached the spot on Friday. Where the injured sheep were treated by veterinarians. After conducting the post-mortem, the police dug a pit and buried the bodies of the dead sheep. The villagers have demanded the administration to provide compensation to the victim.
