Jagran correspondent, Bhagalpur. With the aim of increasing the production of fruits in the district, the Plant Protection Department has prepared an action plan for spraying pesticides on major fruit plants like mango, litchi and guava.
Under this scheme, spraying will be done for pest management in both the stages before and after the arrival of the disease. Its main objective is to increase the quality and production of fruits through pest and disease control.
Under the scheme, farmers cultivating mango, litchi and guava will be given grants for spraying. The Plant Protection Department has also fixed the maximum limit of trees per farmer.
According to this, a farmer will get grant for spraying a maximum of 112 mango trees, 84 litchi trees and 56 guava trees. The benefits of the scheme will be given on the basis of first come first serve.
To avail the benefits of this scheme, it will be mandatory for farmers to register on the DBT portal of the Agriculture Department. After registration, you will have to apply online. Registration ID obtained from DBT, Aadhaar card and self-declaration letter of being a ryot or non-ryot farmer will have to be attached with the application.
The grant amount has also been fixed. A grant of Rs 57 will be given per tree at a cost of Rs 76 for the first spraying before the appearance of the mango tree and a subsidy of Rs 72 will be given for the second spraying after the appearance of the mango tree at a cost of Rs 96 per tree.
In litchi, a subsidy of Rs 162 per plant will be given on the first spraying at a cost of Rs 216 and Rs 114 will be given on the second spraying at a cost of Rs 152 per plant. Whereas in guava, a grant of Rs 33 will be given per tree at a cost of Rs 44 for pest management and Rs 45 for disease management at a cost of Rs 60. A target has been given to spray 25 thousand trees for mango, 23 thousand for litchi and one thousand for guava.
