Jagran correspondent, Udaipur. Two youths from Udaipur district of Rajasthan were rescued from Myanmar and brought back three days ago due to the efforts of the Government of India. Both the youths had become victims of cyber slave gang there. After returning home, both the victim youths lodged an FIR in Fatehnagar police station on Friday.
According to the youth, they came in contact with Neeraj Chaudhary of Uttarakhand through internet media. Police officer Chandrashekhar Kilaniya said that the youth were lured with the promise of jobs abroad with good packages through online interviews. The tickets were also sent online, after which they reached Thailand. From there he was taken to Myanmar and trapped in the clutches of a gang.
The victims said that as soon as they reached Myanmar, their passports, visas and mobile phones were snatched away. He was held hostage in a building and cyber crimes were committed for 16 to 18 hours. If they refused to work, they would be beaten and even food and water would be withheld.
According to the police, this gang is working internationally under the cover of dark web, making it difficult to reach the accused. Udaipur Superintendent of Police Yogesh Goyal has appealed to the youth to be cautious about online offers in the name of jobs abroad and not to trust such offers without thorough investigation.
