Jagran correspondent, Prayagraj. Thieves ransacked a jewelery shop located at Sadar Bazar intersection late on Thursday night. The thieves entered inside by tilting the shutter and took away more than 15 kg of silver and 100 grams of gold jewellery. Its price is around Rs 60 lakh. When Cantt Police got the news on Friday morning, it reached the spot. The forensic team also investigated. However, no trace of the thieves was found.
Priyanshu Verma, resident of Ganganagar Nevada Rajapur under Cantt police station, has a jewelery shop at Sadar Bazaar intersection. He closed the shop at around 8 pm on Thursday night and went home. On Friday morning, Neeraj Yadav, who lives in front of the shop, called him. Told that the shutter of his shop is crooked.
As soon as the news was received, Priyanshu Verma reached the spot. The shutter was crooked. When he entered inside, the glass on the door was broken. All the gold and silver jewelery was missing. As soon as he saw this he lost his senses. A crowd of nearby shopkeepers gathered. When the police got the news, they reached the spot.
Priyanshu told the police that thieves had taken away more than 15 kg of silver and 100 grams of gold jewellery. After some time, the forensic team reached the spot and conducted the investigation. Took fingerprints of thieves from the shop. The police scanned the footage of the CCTV camera installed in the shop and took away the DVR.
Inspector Sunil Kumar says that a complaint has been filed in the case. A case has been registered and the thieves are being traced. Along with two teams of police, help of SOG and surveillance team is also being taken and soon the incident will be exposed. Traders gathered and said that the incident should be exposed soon.
After getting information about the incident, a large number of traders reached the spot. Patron of Prayagraj District Metropolitan Industries Trade Board Rajiv Krishna Srivastava, District President Anoop Verma, General Secretary Nikhil Pandey, Priyank Verma, Shrikant Soni, Prashant Chaurasia, Keshav Singh Chauhan, Krishna Singh, Rinku Gupta etc. have demanded early disclosure of the incident. At the same time, District President of Allahabad Jewelers Association, Dinesh Singh has demanded the police officers to arrest the miscreants and recover the stolen jewellery.
