Jagran correspondent, Prayagraj. Under the pressure of huge crowd of bathers on Mauni Amavasya, the barricading broke near Sangam Nose. Seeing this situation, the policemen deployed there took immediate action and corrected the barricading.
Due to the crowd, the mobile barriers installed for security on Triveni and Kali Marg also collapsed, due to which many devotees had a narrow escape.
There was a scuffle between the bathers and the security personnel on the Sangam Upper Lower Road over the removal of barricades. However, as the crowd subsided, the situation gradually returned to normal.
As soon as the holy bath started at midnight on Saturday, the crowd of devotees started moving towards Sangam Nose. By Sunday morning the crowd exceeded expectations. Suddenly, due to the rapid arrival of a group of bathers, the barricading was broken, causing chaos.
The policemen took control of the situation and re-established the barricades. After this, the devotees were informed through hand louder to take safe bath.
Due to crowd on Triveni and Kali Marg, mobile barriers fell at two places. Devotees were trying to remove the barricading on Sangam Lower Road, but the security personnel stopped them. After persuasion by the police, the bathers agreed and proceeded towards the prescribed route.
