Jagran correspondent, Jehanabad. Life authentication of pensioners will be started in the district. The total number of pensioners is one lakh 43 thousand 754. There are six types of pension beneficiaries. Beneficiaries of Chief Minister Disability Pension Scheme, Indira Gandhi Disability, Indira Gandhi Old Age Pension, Widow, Laxmibai Social Security and Chief Minister Old Age Scheme.

Beneficiaries of the scheme will have to get their verification done by visiting the nearest Vasudha center to continue their benefits. It is mandatory to carry pass book, Aadhaar and photo for verification. The fee for verification work has been fixed at Rs 5 per pensioner. Every month Rs 15 crore 81 lakh 29 thousand four hundred are sent by the government to the accounts of pensioners in the district.

Each beneficiary is given Rs 1100 per month. Apart from medicines, clothes and food, the pensioners also make some savings with this amount, so that they do not have to ask for money from anyone in case of need in the future.

The purpose of getting verification done by the government is to prevent fake pension payments. If any pensioner dies before the verification month, then his life verification will not be possible due to which his pension will automatically stop.

Since pension payment is online, the department does not get information about the death of the pensioner and pension continues to be paid. According to the guidelines issued by the government, after the death of the pensioner, it is mandatory to inform his relatives in the local office.

Most of the pensioners' relatives do not consider it appropriate to give timely information to the authorities. To solve all these problems, the government is conducting life authentication verification of pensioners.

Rich old people can also take benefit of Chief Minister Old Age Scheme

Financially prosperous elderly people can also avail the benefits of Chief Minister Old Age Scheme. There is no income requirement to avail the benefits of this scheme. Only those elderly people who have retired after working in any government department or pay income tax cannot avail the benefit of this scheme. At present, 72126 old people of the district are taking pension amount under this scheme.
