A meeting of District Peace Committee was held in Samiksha Bhavan under the chairmanship of District Magistrate Dr. Naval Kishore Chaudhary to conduct Holi and Ramzan in a peaceful and harmonious environment. In the meeting, the members of the Peace Committee one by one informed about the needs of their respective areas on the occasion of Holi and Ramzan.
Peace Committee members told that Holika Dahan will be celebrated on 3rd and Holi festival will be celebrated on 4th March. There is a problem if the height of the Sambat is more than six feet, hence the height of the Sambat should not be kept more than six feet. Many members said that there was a five feet crater at Narga Chowk. Ward number one pew is bad.
It was told that there was a dispute in the past regarding burning of Sambat at Tamtam Chowk under Lalmatia police station. It was told that there was a need to remove the electric pole near Mahashay Deodhi. Also the road at Sahibganj Chowk needs repair. He told that the road has been cut and abandoned at many places by BUDCO.
The members of the District Peace Committee assured that if the members of the District Peace Committee remain alert on the road on the festival day, then no untoward incident will happen. Senior Superintendent of Police Pramod Kumar Yadav said that in the past coordination between the District Peace Committee and the administration has been good. This year will also be good. He said that there will be a deputation of around 1500 police forces during Holi.
There will be police surveillance at the Holika Dahan site. All the sites have been marked. Unruly elements have been identified. They are being given bond down. He said that administration is for the people and there should always be peace in the society. The administration is committed to this. He said that DJ is not to be played, obscene songs will not be played. This has to be followed. Vigilance will be maintained at sensitive places.
He said that if 10-12 year old children do any act on the occasion of Holi, then it has to be understood, they are small children, if they suddenly do something to play Holi, then the elders have to understand it. He said that we will remain strict during the festival. Officials will be on tour.
He told the members of the peace committee that if any incident happens anywhere, the administration should be informed first. If any rumor has been spread then it has to be stopped. Do not move ahead with anything in your hands. There is administration for this. Will control the administration.
District Magistrate Dr. Naval Kishore Chaudhary said that the holy month of Ramadan is going on. There is also the holy festival of Holi. While on one hand our Muslim brothers keep fast throughout the day, on the other hand the festival of Holi is also celebrated with harmony and purity. He said that whatever suggestions have come from the District Peace Committee have been told to the Municipal Corporation. All those works will be done.
He said that the traffic of people increases during Holi. People come home from outside. Go home from the city. Therefore the traffic system should be maintained smoothly. He especially told the traffic DSP to ensure that there is no jam anywhere. If the family gets stuck in a traffic jam, the children start getting bored. Especially instructions were given to keep special vigil on Kahalgaon, Ghogha and Sabour road.
The Executive Engineer of NH was told that if the work has to be postponed for four-five days then it should be so. Construction material should not be kept and dumped on the road, which may create a possibility of traffic jam. He said that those who are drunk and drive after drinking alcohol, they should be tested with breath inhaler, because many incidents happen due to drunk driving.
He said that the administration and the society are deeply saddened by the recent unpleasant accident that took place near Jhandapur. This type of unpleasant incident should not happen again anywhere. This should be paid attention to. He said that DJ will be completely banned and no obscene song will be played anywhere.
He said that the festival of Holi is a festival of mutual love, brotherhood and harmony. Therefore, play Holi only after seeing the feelings of the person in front. Care has to be taken that the electric wire does not get burnt where the fire is lit. Otherwise the society around there will be affected. It will be difficult to change the wire immediately.
