Digital Desk, New Delhi. Delhi Police has tightened its grip on criminals associated with gangs by running a special campaign. Delhi Police has started 'Operation Gang Bust', under which major action was taken.

Delhi Police launched this year's first campaign against gangsters. This campaign ran from 8 pm on Friday to 8 pm on Sunday. Apart from the police teams of Outer District, Rohini and Dwarka districts, nine thousand policemen of Crime Branch and Special Cell were deployed in this operation.

While raiding 4299 locations in Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan and UP, 854 accused were arrested, in which 280 gangsters of gangs like Kapil Sangwan, Hashim Baba, Goldie Brar etc. were arrested.

Apart from this, 6494 people were detained and 690 new cases were registered. In this operation, 300 weapons, Rs 25 lakh cash, 117 mobile phones, 28 thousand illicit liquor and 118 kg narcotics were recovered.

Special campaign ‘Operation Prahar’ was also launched

In Delhi, Outer District Police launched a special campaign 'Operation Prahar' to curb organized crime and tighten the noose on criminals. During this massive operation that lasted for two days, the police arrested a total of 143 accused and registered 97 criminal cases against them. During the operation, a large quantity of illicit liquor, weapons, narcotics and cash were recovered.

Outer District Police Deputy Commissioner Sachin Sharma said that more than 13 thousand liquor quarters, four pistols, three cartridges, 14 knives, Rs 1.39 lakh in cash, more than 12 kg of ganja, 21.18 grams of smack and 39 buprenorphine tablets were recovered from the possession of the arrested accused.
