In Bham village of Mahilpur in Hoshiapur, Punjab, the elderly wife of a freedom fighter, who was living alone in the house, was killed by a local boy with the intention of robbing her. When the CCTV cameras exposed the crimes, the accused went behind the bars. Joginder Kaur (99) wife of Malkit Singh lived alone in the house.
The son of the deceased has been living in Australia for the last thirty-five years. The deceased's husband Malkit Singh was a freedom fighter, whose pension he also received. Joginder Kaur's son had returned to Australia from India two days before the accident. To take care of his mother, he had also installed CCTV cameras in the house, through which he used to watch her every day.

Dead body found in a box
On Wednesday evening he noticed that his mother had not come out of her room for two days nor had she talked to him on the phone. Expressing concern over this, his son asked the neighbors to take a look. When the neighbors went inside the house and saw, the body of Joginder Kaur was found locked in a box.
When the villagers informed the Chabbewal police, police station head Maninder Singh reached the spot and started investigation by taking CCTV footage and interrogating the villagers.

Clue found from CCTV
When CCTV footage was searched, a clue was found. It was seen that Daniel from the village had entered the house. When the police took him into custody and started interrogating him, he could not cover up his crimes for long. He confessed to his crime. The old woman was murdered by strangulation. The accused Daniel is 23 years old. He did it with the intention of robbery.
The murder was carried out because the old woman had recognized Daniel. Cash worth approximately Rs 45 thousand was also recovered from the accused. Police station head Maninder Singh said that a case has been registered against the accused.
