UGC News Today Saints expressed strong objection regarding UGC. Awakening
Jagran correspondent, Haridwar. UGC News Today Sant Samaj has expressed strong objection to the UGC law and has demanded the government to withdraw it.
Saints say that this system can create a situation of division in the society and will create imbalance in a sensitive area like education.
Mahamandaleshwar Swami Vedamurthy Puri Maharaj said that the provisions related to UGC seem to divide the society.
He urged the government not to take any decision which would affect social unity. According to him, it is very important to maintain equal opportunities and balance in the education system.
Mahamandaleshwar Swami Adiyogi Puri Maharaj said that the soul of India lies in equality. Article 14 of the Constitution gives every citizen the right to equality before law.
If any policy creates fear of division on the basis of caste, class or identity, then it is necessary to reconsider it.
He said that the decisions related to UGC are not only related to academic matters, but also to the future of the nation and the mental direction of the youth.
Mahamandaleshwar Swami Garv Giri Maharaj said that there should not be an atmosphere of fear in any system. The field of education should be based on trust, dialogue and fairness.
Swami Nagendra Maharaj and other saints also reiterated their demand for the government to reconsider and withdraw the UGC notification.
