Fraud of lakhs in the name of selection in Bihar cricket team
Jagran Correspondent, Hapur: Some accused cheated Rs 14.30 lakh from a father in the name of his son's selection in Bihar cricket team. The accused lured the victim by luring him with the promise of good exposure in cricket academy and Bihar. Police have registered the report on the orders of SP.
Police is busy investigating the matter. In the report lodged with the police in Hapur, Uttar Pradesh, Brijesh Singh told that his son Bhavesh Kumar practices at Sanskar Cricket Academy of Hapur. During a tournament in 2022, Bhavesh met Virat alias Mukul Tyagi of Bulandshahr.
Mukul lured Bhavesh that his acquaintances Monu and Saharsh Anand, residents of Banaras, have a good hold on Bihar cricket. He runs MS Cricket Academy in Banaras. Mukul claimed that by paying a fee of Rs 15 lakh, he would get Bhavesh selected in the Bihar team and he would play at least two matches each in Under-19 ODI and Test matches. Also gave a guarantee of returning the money if he does not play.
At the request of his son, the victim initially refused, but Mukul took him into confidence by coming home and talking to Kishan, who runs a cricket academy in Ghaziabad.
After this, the victim transferred a total of Rs 14 lakh, 30 thousand in different installments in the bank accounts of Mukul Tyagi and Saharsh Anand in August-September 2022. It is alleged that these people called the son to Bihar and made him practice, got fake documents prepared and got a bank account opened. A fake selection letter was also given, but in the end the son was not allowed to play the match. The accused made excuses when they asked for the money back. Later refused to return the money.
Complaints were coming continuously
SP Gyananjay Singh said that a case of fraud has been registered against Virat alias Mukul Tyagi, Kishan, Monu and Saharsh Anand. The matter will be investigated and action will be taken against the accused. At the same time, according to PP Anand Mishra, Organizing Secretary of Varanasi Cricket Association, Monu and Saharsh claim to play in the Under-19 team of UP, but they do not have a record.
Has been running MS Cricket Academy for four years. Complaints against both of them have been continuously reaching the Varanasi Cricket Association. There have been allegations of irregularities in sports competitions and taking money from players in the name of team selection. In view of their activities they are no longer allowed to organize any competitions.
