Digital Desk, New Delhi. Ajit Pawar's wife Sunetra Pawar is ready to become the Deputy CM of Maharashtra. For this, she reached Mumbai early on Saturday morning with her son Parth. Sunetra Pawar will take oath as Deputy CM today (January 31) at 5 pm.
NCP leaders Praful Patel and Sunil Tatkare have met Sunetra Pawar before the legislature party meeting. Sunetra Pawar will be sworn in as the first woman Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra at 5 pm.
NCP Legislature Party meeting will be held at 2 pm at Vidhan Bhavan in Mumbai. 40 NCP MLAs will attend this meeting. In which Sunetra Pawar will be officially elected leader. After this, he will be administered the oath of office as Deputy CM of Maharashtra at 5 pm.
Sunetra Pawar's swearing-in ceremony will be held at the Lok Bhawan (or Raj Bhavan complex) in Mumbai. Before the swearing-in, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has made it clear that the Maharashtra government and the Mahayuti alliance will fully support this decision of the NCP.
Meeting starts at Sharad Pawar's house
It is noteworthy that NCP (Sharad Pawar faction) was earlier discussing the merger of the two factions. But, after the announcement of Sunetra Pawar becoming Deputy CM, these discussions seem to have come to an end.
An important meeting of party leaders has started at Govind Bagh, the residence of NCP chief Sharad Pawar in Baramati. MP Supriya Sule, MLA Rohit Pawar, Yugendra Pawar and Sandeep Kshirsagar are present in the meeting. There is a possibility of discussion about the upcoming strategy of the party in this meeting.
