Digital Desk, Bhopal. Minister of State for Urban Development and Housing Pratima Bagri, who came into limelight after her brother was caught in possession of ganja, raised questions on the working style of the Public Works Department (PWD) of her own government. She may be citing public interest by publicly exposing the poor road construction in her area, but the matter is not as it seems.

The reason for this activism of Pratima Bagri is not because of poor road construction, but because of her displeasure with the PWD engineers posted in the district. In a way, this was politics of creating pressure. Actually, Pratima Bagri wants to remove some engineers from Satna district, her demand was not heard, hence she made the issue of this poor road public, whereas in this case, action has already been initiated to blacklist the contractor if the road construction is found to be of poor quality.

The Chief Minister called her and warned her, then Pratima even said that even after my request, the executive officer there was not being removed. The Chief Minister said that you should not forget that you are in the government.

MLAs have already raised questions about the system

This is not the first case. In this way, MLAs and ministers keep putting the government in the dock when they are not heard in the name of public interest. Earlier too, Bhind MLA Narendra Singh Kushwaha had publicly clashed with the Collector. Not one but many such cases have come to light, where leaders may say that the party is supreme, but to prove their own importance, they put the system in the dock. The party does not take strict action, hence repetitions keep happening.

Poor construction was exposed

Let us tell you, a few days ago Pratima Bagri had inspected the Podi-Mankahari road of Majhgawan. He removed the gravel and asphalt with his feet and termed the construction work as low quality. Immediate instructions were given to cancel the contract and take action against the officials. Its video was widely circulated on the internet media, giving the opposition an opportunity to attack the government.

After the cabinet meeting on Monday, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav called Pratima Bagri to his room. Before this he had collected complete information related to this road. The Chief Minister said that the department has already taken action on the road that you raised. You are a minister and such behavior is not right at all.

In fact, Sub-Divisional Officer (PWD) Majhgawan instructed Deputy Engineer Surendra Singh to remove the contractor for shoddy construction and get the work done at standard level again. After this, on December 19, the said work was also canceled by the Executive Engineer (EE), that is, the action at the departmental level had been completed. Whereas Pratima Bagri had conducted the alleged inspection the next day and given instructions for action. There was no justification for this.

Controversy related to many MLAs earlier too

In the month of April this year, Rudraksh Shukla, son of Indore-3 BJP MLA Golu Shukla, along with his friends, had created a ruckus at Mata Tekri of Dewas. Pressured the priest to open the doors of the temple at midnight. Of indecency. After the protest, a case was registered against Rudraksh Shukla and others. The state BJP organization also reprimanded the MLA.

A few months ago, Dr. Nikhil Chaudhary, nephew of BJP MLA from Hatpipalya, Manoj Chaudhary, had vandalized the toll booth on Bhopal Road. The video was widely circulated. Similarly, Vikram Singh Pawar, son of BJP MLA Gayatri Raje Pawar from Dewas, had entered Shri Mahakal Mahalok with a convoy of vehicles. The police administration had imposed a fine.
