Samvad Sutra, Kithore (Meerut): An accused arrested by Aligarh Police in buffalo theft case tried to escape in broad daylight by freeing the hand of the policeman as soon as he reached Kithore police station. There was chaos in the police station premises due to the sudden escape of the accused.

However, due to the vigilance and prompt action of the police, within a short time he was surrounded and captured again near Kithore Rajwaha. The matter has become a topic of discussion in the town. After the incident, discussion has started regarding the security arrangements of the police station.

According to the information received, an incident of buffalo theft was reported in Aligarh district on 24th February. During the investigation of the case, the police came to light of the names of many suspects including Imran (35), son of Mashuk Kalandar, resident of Shahjahanpur of Kithore police station area.

Aligarh police team reached Kithore on Friday in search of the accused and raided Shahjahanpur along with the local police. During the raid, the police arrested Imran from his house, while the other accused fled from the spot.

It is reported that while getting down near the main gate of the police station, Imran suddenly shook the hand of the constable walking with him and ran fast. This audacious step of the accused in broad daylight created panic among the policemen. Every constable and sub-inspector present in the police station ran after the accused and also chased him on bike.

Not only this, some constables present at the police station hung themselves in the auto and bus and tried to catch the accused from a distance of two hundred meters. The accused was caught near Kithore Rajwahe, about two hundred meters away. After re-arrest, the police sent the accused to Aligarh in a vehicle (Innova) under strict surveillance.

Inspector Pratap Singh said that the accused constable had thrown away his hand and ran away, but with prompt action he was immediately caught. Meanwhile, the search is on to arrest other absconding accused.
