The highway will be widened in Bahraich at a cost of Rs 31.14 crore.
Samvad Sutra, Mahsi (Bahraich). The 5.400 kilometer highway will be widened from Bhagwanpur town to Chahalari Ghat bridge located on the highway connecting the district headquarters to Sitapur. For this the government has sanctioned Rs 3114.22 lakh. Road widening work will be started soon.
A 10 meter wide road was built from Tikora turn on Bahraich-Sitapur highway to Gadamar Khurd. Beyond this there was a seven meter wide road till Chahalrighat bridge. This was causing problems to the pedestrians.
On the proposal of MLA Sureshwar Singh, the provincial section of the Public Works Department prepared a proposal and sent it to the government. The government approved Rs 3114.22 for widening and strengthening the road from 22.800 to 28.200 kilometers of the highway.
The responsibility of construction has been handed over to the Public Works Department. Junior Engineers Pankaj Singh and Vishad Singh said that the work of widening the highway will be started after the tender process.
Thousands of vehicles travel every day
More than 18 thousand small and heavy vehicles pass on the Bahraich-Sitapur highway every day. There is movement of vehicles from nearby districts including Sitapur, Hardoi, Shahjahanpur, Lakhimpur Kheri, Lucknow, Barabanki.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is serious about preventing road accidents with good connectivity. The Chief Minister has accepted the proposal and approved the amount. Widening of the highway will provide convenience to the pedestrians. -Sureshwar Singh, MLA BJP, Mahsi.
