Shoorveer Singh Tomar, posted as irrigation supervisor in Uttar Pradesh Irrigation Department, Roorkee, died.

Samvad Sahayak, Jagran, Roorkee: The sound of a mobile thief breaking into the house by jumping over the wall in the silence of the night ruined the world of a family. Irrigation Department employee Shoorveer Singh Tomar, who woke up from sleep in panic, got such a shock that his breathing stopped within some time.

This accident happened due to the broken wall, which he had been demanding to get built for a long time, but no one listened to him.

This tragic incident happened on December 9 at around 10 pm in Barfkhana Colony. Shoorveer Singh Tomar, posted as Irrigation Supervisor in Uttar Pradesh Irrigation Department, Roorkee, was sleeping in his residence. Suddenly, hearing the sound of 'chor-chor', he sat up in a panic.

Meanwhile, a mobile thief jumped into his residence by jumping over the broken wall of the colony. However, about 20-25 local people who ran behind him caught the thief and handed him over to the Saunt police station of Gangnahar police station.

This entire incident shook Shoorveer Singh Tomar to the core. Due to extreme nervousness, he had a heart attack and died on the spot. 48-year-old Shoorveer Singh, associated with the RSS, was not only a dutiful employee but also the president of the Roorkee branch of the UP Irrigation Department. Due to his sudden demise, not only the family and residents of the colony but also the departmental personnel are saddened.

The relative told that Shoorveer Tomar had been raising his voice at the departmental level for the last one year regarding the dilapidated wall of Barfkhana Colony. Dainik Jagran had also published this problem prominently. Despite this, due to the intervention of a public representative, the wall construction work was stopped.

Coincidentally, the thief entered his house directly through the broken wall near which his residence was, and this accident took place. He leaves behind his wife, a son Zubin and a daughter.

Due to his departure, every eye in the colony is moist and everyone says that if the wall had been built on time, perhaps we would not have had to see such a day.

In this matter, Chief Engineer Dinesh Singh said that there is a wave of mourning in the entire department due to the sudden demise of Shoorveer Singh. Instructions have been immediately given to the Executive Engineer of Deoband branch for the construction of wall in Barfkhana Colony.
