Jagran correspondent, Ghaziabad. The Public Works Department (PWD) has started taking steps towards making 21 roads of the district accident free. There is a possibility of accidents like Noida on these roads.

Of these, the land surface has been deepened by three meters by digging the fields by the kiln operators on the side of 10 roads. The department has written a letter to the government demanding action against the kiln operators and a change in the policy. These roads have been included in the action plan for 2026-27 to make them accident free.

After the drowning death of engineer Yuvraj in Sector 150 of Noida, PWD had surveyed the roads of Ghaziabad. There are a total of 374 roads in the district, whose length is 885 kilometers. Most of the roads pass through villages.

21 dangerous potholes on the side of the road

In the survey, dangerous potholes have been found on the side of 21 roads, due to which there is a danger of the vehicle falling off the road. The department has written a letter to the government informing them that a policy should be made in this regard, so that kiln operators cannot pick up soil by digging in the fields on the roadside.
