Jagran correspondent, Prayagraj. A horrific road accident took place on Shastri Bridge late Thursday night. Two youths died in collision with dumper. A young man got trapped in the dumper and was dragged for about 700 metres. The driver ran away leaving the dumper. Due to the accident, there was a queue of vehicles on the Prayagraj-Varanasi road. After receiving the news, Jhunsi, Daraganj police reached the spot. After the dead bodies were recovered and the accident vehicles were removed, the traffic could become normal only after about two hours.
One young man came under the wheels of a dumper and the other got trapped.
Two youths riding a bike left from Alopibagh on Thursday night to go towards Jhunsi. He had just reached the middle of Shastri bridge when the dumper coming from behind at high speed hit the bike hard. Both the youths along with the bike fell on the road. One came under the wheel, while the other got stuck in the rear of the dumper.

The young man who came under the wheel died on the spot, while the young man trapped in the dumper was dragged for about 700 meters. When the dumper driver saw from the side mirror, he parked the vehicle near Jhunsi slope and ran away. When passersby reached the spot, the young man was dead. His body was mutilated.
One young man was identified in the night and the other in the morning
Due to the accident, vehicles were stranded everywhere on the Prayagraj-Varanasi lane on the bridge. Jhunsi and Daraganj police reached the spot. The body of the youth trapped in the dumper was somehow taken out. When his pocket was searched, Aadhaar card was found, in which it was written that 35 year old Vishal Mishra, resident of Mori police station, Daraganj was written. Whereas on searching the clothes of the second deceased, no such documents were found which could identify him.
Jhunsi police station in-charge said - both the youths were friends
The police sent both the bodies to the post-mortem house. On Friday morning, the second deceased was identified as Ankur Khare resident of Jhunsi. Police station in-charge Jhunsi Mahesh Mishra says that both the deceased have been identified. Both were friends.
The bike was blown away
How horrific the accident that happened on Shastri Bridge was, can be gauged from the fact that the bike was blown away. Passersby told the police that after the strong collision, the bike had come under the dumper, due to which the bike's parts got separated.
