Jagran News Network, New Delhi. US President Donald Trump has decided to withdraw America from more than 60 international organizations. These include several UN-related bodies as well as the India-France led International Solar Alliance (ISA).

The Trump administration has termed these organizations unnecessary and hostile to America's interests. According to Prater, President Trump on Wednesday signed a memorandum regarding 'withdrawal from international organizations, conventions and treaties contrary to the interests of the United States'. After this he said that it is against the interests of the country for America to maintain membership of 66 UN and non-UN organizations, participate in them or give them any kind of support.

Which organizations is America withdrawing from?

A UN spokesman said it had received the full list of organizations from the US and would respond on Thursday. At the same time, US Ambassador to the United Nations Mike Waltz said that America will no longer fund or participate in international organizations that do not serve American interests or work against them.

What is the goal of IS?

America has been an active member of ISA. ISA has set a target of installing 1.95 lakh MW capacity solar power plants across the world by the year 2030. It has started helping developed and poor countries to install solar energy related technology. ISA aims to raise funding of $1000 billion.

ISA officials have said that their organization will continue to function as before. Within a short time, ISA had more than 121 members. India formed another international cooperation organization in the field of clean fuel by the name of Global Biofuel Alliance (GBA) in the year 2023. America is also a member of it.
