School bus fell from the bridge in Vidisha
Digital Desk, New Delhi. A school bus fell off a bridge in Vidisha, Madhya Pradesh on Sunday morning. At least 28 children were injured in this accident, out of which the condition of four to five students is said to be critical.
Actually, the bus full of students and employees of Higher Secondary School of Bahadurpur located in Vidisha district was going for picnic. Meanwhile, while crossing the Sagad river bridge, the bus went out of control and fell from the bridge into the Sukhi river below. The accident occurred around 10:30 am in the Natran police station area, about 80 km from Bahadurpur.
Local people informed the police
After the bus overturned there was an outcry. Local villagers reached the spot and started evacuating the students trapped in the bus, and immediately informed the police officials. Police and administrative officials immediately reached the spot and started the rescue operation. The injured children were taken out of the bus and immediately sent for treatment.
Many students were injured in this accident, some of whom suffered fractures in their arms and legs. Four to five seriously injured children were immediately sent to Vidisha Medical College for better treatment.
Nine children referred to medical college
Giving information about the bus accident, MLA Mukesh Tandon said that the nine injured children have been referred from Ganj Basoda to Vidisha Medical College, while the condition of the remaining students is stable. He told that all the children were from Ashoknagar district and had come on an educational trip. The fortunate thing is that no one has died in this accident.
Sub-divisional magistrate Kshitij Sharma said that around 40 to 42 children were traveling in the bus at the time of the accident. He said that four to five children have suffered serious injuries and have been referred to the medical college. The remaining children have been given first aid and sent back to their districts.
The bus was going on a picnic
It is being told that the students of Bahadurpur High Secondary School were going on a picnic to visit Vidisha and Sanchi Stupa. The capacity of the bus was only 28 children but the bus operator, due to negligence, loaded more than 54 people in it and while giving side to the vehicle coming from the front, the bus went out of control and fell into Sagara river.
