Sanjay Kumar Singh, Motihari (East Champaran). East Champaran News: The great journey of faith is continuously moving forward with the world's largest Shivling. The convoy has reached Maharashtra after covering a distance of about one thousand kilometers.

From here, via Madhya Pradesh, this Mahayatra will reach its destination at Kaithwaliya village under Kalyanpur block of East Champaran district. It is here that the Virat Ramayana Temple is being constructed by the Shri Mahavir Temple Trust, Patna.

A huge Shivalinga, 33 feet high and weighing 210 metric tons, is to be established in this temple complex. The construction work of the base pillar to install Shivalinga in the temple is almost complete.

Let us tell you here that in Mahabalipuram, Tamil Nadu, a thousand Shivalingas have been prepared by carving a single granite stone by spending about three crore rupees. The shape of 1008 small Shivalingas has been carved in the lower part of this huge Shivalinga. Below that is the foundation stone. An example of excellent craftsmanship can be seen in its construction.

Worship taking place at various places

In this Mahayatra, Shivalinga is being worshiped by stopping the convoy at various places. A large crowd of devotees are flocking to see it. In this journey of about two thousand kilometers, a distance of more than one thousand kilometers has been covered.

This convoy has now moved beyond Nagpur in Maharashtra. With this it will now enter Madhya Pradesh. From here the team of Shri Mahavir Mandir Patna will join the convoy and move along. It is expected that Shivling will reach its destination by 20th December.

Dream coming true despite many obstacles

Many obstacles have come to the fore in bringing the concept of Virat Ramayana Temple to fruition. Acquisition of land was also a challenging task. However, the local people voluntarily gave their land. Some problems that came up were also solved.

After this, there were difficulties regarding the design of the temple. In fact, the government of the South-East Asian country Cambodia had lodged an objection and said that it was a replica of the famous Angkor Wat temple there. After this the map was changed.

But experts admitted that the said map has been made keeping in mind the seismic zone four of the earthquake, which is not beneficial. Later, the design of the temple was prepared keeping Seismic Zone 5, the most sensitive from earthquake point of view, at the centre.

The technology adopted in building the new Parliament building is being used in this temple. Keeping in mind the strength of two hundred years, the construction work of Virat Ramayana Temple is in progress.

Grand temple being built on 120 acres

Virat Ramayana Temple is being constructed on a total of 120 acres of land. This will be one of the biggest temples in the world. The peak of this temple will be 270 feet, width will be 540 feet and length will be 1080 feet. The number of temples in the complex will be 22 and the number of peaks will be 12.

The highest peak will be 270 feet. Apart from this, the height of one peak will be 198 feet, the height of four peaks will be 180 feet, the height of one peak will be 135 feet and the height of five peaks will be 108 feet. At the same time, the roundness of the 33 feet high Shivalinga is also 33 feet.
