Vishwanathan Anand will participate after 6 years
Digital Desk, Kolkata: The seventh edition of Tata Steel Chess India Tournament will begin from Wednesday at Dhonho Dhanyo Auditorium in Kolkata. Many famous players from India and abroad including Vishwanathan Anand, Arjun Erigesi, R Praggnanand, Nihal Sarin, Wesley So will participate in this biggest chess competition of the country which will run till January 11. In the women's category, prominent players like Divya Deshmukh, Vantika Aggarwal, Vaishali R, Rakshita Ravi will participate.

Five-time world champion Vishwanathan Anand is returning to this tournament after six years. In the first round he faces Wesley So of America.
At the same time, Arjun Erigesi, who won the bronze medal in the FIDE World Rapid Chess Championship in Doha, will face Vidit Gujarati. On competition with young players, Vishwanathan Anand said in a light tone that it would not be right to separate him from these players. Everyone has their own style. It will be fun to play with them. This tournament will be held in both rapid and blitz categories. It is known that last time Magnus Carlsen of Norway was the champion in both rapid and blitz categories.
