Jagran correspondent, East Delhi. Escalators of five metro stations will remain temporarily closed. According to DMRC, Akshardham, Mayur Vihar Phase-1, Mayur Vihar Extension, New Ashok Nagar and Noida Sector-15 metro stations will be affected by this work.
Escalators connecting ground level to platform-2 at these stations will not be operational during the period of overhauling.
The Metro administration says that this work is being done to ensure the safety of passengers and to avoid any technical glitch in future. During overhauling, escalator parts will be thoroughly inspected and repaired.
DMRC has appealed to passengers to use the lifts available at stations instead of escalators during this period.
