Digital Desk, New Delhi. A surprising incident has come to light from Belagavi district of Karnataka. Here on Tuesday, a 13-year-old girl was dragged into a sugarcane field and raped. Police have arrested two people in this case.
It is being told that the names of the arrested people are Manikantha Dinnimani and Iranna Sankammanvar. Police say that one of the accused assaulted the girl, while the other stood guard and supported her.
Where is this incident from?
According to initial information, the incident took place within the limits of Muragoda police station. The Class VII student was allegedly abducted and raped while she was returning from a flour mill, police said.
The accused carried out this incident when the minor girl was returning home from the flour mill. The incident took place just 300 meters away from the victim's house.
What did Belagavi SP say?
Responding to this incident, Belagavi SP Bhimashankar Guled said that the victim has said in her complaint that one of the accused committed the crime and the other supported her by guarding her.a
He said that as soon as the complaint was filed, police officials took the accused into custody. We have deployed a lady police officer to investigate the matter. The accused persons, Manikantha and Eranna, will be produced in the court soon.
