In a 20 year old rape case in Nathnagar, Bhagalpur, Rizwan was sentenced to 10 years rigorous imprisonment and also fined.

The court has sentenced ten years of rigorous imprisonment to Muhammad Rizwan, who was convicted in a rape incident that took place 20 years ago in Nathnagar police station area of Bhagalpur. Besides, the court has also ordered him to pay a fine of Rs 10,000. If he does not deposit the fine, he will have to undergo additional simple punishment of five months.
First District Sessions Judge sentenced
On Tuesday, the court of First District Sessions Judge Milan Kumar sentenced convict Rizwan during the hearing. Additional Public Prosecutor Shri Kishore Yadav participated in the debate on behalf of the government.
The girl was taken to the farm by tricking her
On September 17, 2005, accused Rizwan had taken a ten-year-old girl playing on the platform near the house in his lap on the pretext of giving her ten rupees. Rizwan took the girl with him to the fields and committed the rape. After committing the incident, the accused asked the girl not to tell anything about this incident to her father, mother and grandmother. Then he left the girl near the madrassa and ran away.
Information about the incident to the family
Initially the girl did not tell anything to anyone. But when he started having pain in his body, he told his family. After this the family members took the girl to the doctor. The doctor confirmed that the girl had been raped. After this, the girl's family lodged a case in Nathnagar police station.
The prosecution fought the case successfully
Muhammad Rizwan was made a named accused in the registered case. The prosecution got the testimony of all the key witnesses and was successful in taking the case to a decisive stage. Even after the accused was punished, people said that justice has prevailed.
