21 Lakh People Got Jobs In Startups, Last Year 44,000 Startups Were Approved; Piyush Goyal's Claim

Jagran Bureau, New Delhi. Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal said that more than 50 startups are being recognized every day and 44,000 startups have been registered in the year 2025. 21 lakh people are employed in more than two lakh approved startups and now startups from small towns are coming forward.

On the occasion of completion of ten years of Startup India Mission, a grand three-day startup fair has been organized by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi where hundreds of startups are showcasing their products. On this occasion, the performance of the states was explained on the basis of preparation of startup ecosystem and their performance. The list of performance of the states has been released considering the policies made regarding startups, incentives given to them, rules like ease of doing etc.

100 countries of the world are showing interest in Indian startups

Goyal said that 100 countries of the world are showing interest in partnering with Indian startups. These days, India is in talks with many countries regarding free trade agreements and under this, these countries want to establish startup bridges with India. The countries of the world have a very positive opinion about Indian startups and they want to emulate India in the matter of startups.

On Friday, many startups from different sectors were also honored for their excellent performance. Startups from many sectors like supply chain, urban mobility, women-related innovation, agriculture, fintech were honored.

Gujarat is the best state among startups, Uttar Pradesh and Himachal are among the top performing states.

Various categories of awards were given to assess the performance of the states in Startup. Among the best performing states in A category, Gujarat was the winner, while in B category, Arunachal Pradesh and Goa won. Karnataka, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and Tamil Nadu were included among the top performing A category states. Among the B category states, the top performing states included Manipur, Meghalaya and Nagaland.

A category of aspirational states includes Assam, Bihar, Jammu-Kashmir and Odisha. Mizoram, Sikkim and Tripura are in B category. Chhattisgarh and National Capital Region of Delhi are included in A category of emerging states and Chandigarh and Ladakh are included in B category.
