51000 Pakistani citizens begging abroad deported
Digital Desk, New Delhi. Any person with a visa-passport leaves his country in search of better employment and lifestyle. But, even when Pakistani citizens go abroad to beg. Like their ruler, perhaps they too are no longer concerned with the honor and respect of their country.
Just as their rulers stand before the world with a bowl, a large number of Pakistanis have also adopted the same profession. The irony is that the Pakistani government itself is admitting in its Parliament that thousands of citizens have been caught begging abroad and have been deported.
The largest number of these are citizens expelled from Pakistan's favorite country Saudi Arabia. During the session of the National Assembly Standing Committee on Overseas Pakistanis and Human Rights chaired by Agha Rafiullah, FIA Director General Rifat Mukhtar Raza said that 51,000 Pakistanis were not allowed to stay in other countries and were deported.
He said that 24,000 Pakistanis were caught begging and sent back home, the highest from Saudi Arabia. UAE also arrested 6,000 Pakistanis on similar grounds, while Azerbaijan deported 2,500 Pakistanis on charges of begging. He said that a large number of people have been caught trying to infiltrate into Europe on the pretext of 'Umrah (small Hajj pilgrimage)'.
Officials of European countries caught him doing this on the basis of his documents. DG of FIA said that on the basis of evidence, those passengers were stopped from entering Europe.
Additionally, the committee was also told that 24,000 Pakistanis visited Cambodia this year, of which 12,000 have not yet returned, while 4,000 Pakistanis went to Myanmar on tourist visas and 2,500 of them are yet to return home. He said that last year eight thousand Pakistanis had gone to Europe illegally, whereas this year this number has fallen to four thousand.
He said that in January this year, 200 Pakistani citizens from countries like Saudi Arabia and America were deported and sent to Pakistan. Pakistan at 92nd place in passport ranking FIA chief said that due to better control, Pakistan's passport ranking has increased from 118 to 92. At the same time, Pakistan used to be among the top five countries in terms of illegal migration, but due to improvement in policies, this situation has also improved.
