Jagran correspondent, Dhanbad. Advocates–Doctors Dispute: There is a dispute going on between Black (advocates) and White (doctors and health workers) in Dhanbad since 29 January 2026. Dhanbad Bar Association has kept itself away from judicial work, due to which everyone, common and special, is upset. Dhanbad district administration took initiative on Tuesday to settle this dispute. A bulldozer was used to make way for the advocates. Dhanbad police station in-charge Manoj Pandey arrived with a bulldozer at around 1 pm along with Dhanbad Municipal Corporation officials and police force. He opened the way for the lawyers by breaking the wall of the Sadar Hospital in front of the National Highway Road.
The bulldozer operation continued till 6 pm. Earlier on Tuesday, at around 11 o'clock, a high-level committee meeting of advocates was also held with Dhanbad's Principal District and Sessions Judge Balkrishna Tiwari, in which the District and Sessions Judge had assured action. Since Tuesday morning, the advocates were sitting at the protest site located in the Bar Association premises and were agitating against the attitude of the district administration. At the same time, members of Jharkhand State Bar Council also arrived in support of the demand of the advocates. This dispute started when a wall was erected by the Dhanbad Bar Association on the road leading to Dhanbad Sadar Hospital. It is said that this wall was erected by the Sadar Hospital management.
Due to this, the problem of parking of advocates' vehicles arose. During the dispute, there was stone pelting between the advocates and the doctors and health workers of Sadar Hospital. Addressing the advocates, President Radhey Shyam Goswami and General Secretary Jitendra Kumar said that the administration has taken positive initiatives, but the problem has not been completely resolved yet. The administrative officer should assure the Bar Association in writing that permanent parking arrangements will be made for them soon. He said that the district administration has given verbal assurance that at present the advocates can temporarily park their vehicles on both sides of the road or can park their vehicles in the Kohinoor grounds. Soon permanent parking will be arranged for them.
The President and the General Secretary clarified that the decision to stay away from judicial work still stands. On Wednesday, further strategy will be decided among the advocates whether the strike will be called off or it will continue.
