Jagran correspondent, Ara. The budget of Bihar government is going to change the picture of rural areas of Bhojpur district. The plan to convert 65 important rural roads of the district from single lane to double lane is about to get the green signal. The widening of these roads will not only make transportation easier but will also directly benefit about four lakh people.

This announcement will prove to be a great relief for the people who have been facing the problem of dilapidated and narrow roads in rural areas for a long time. As per the announcements made in the budget of Bihar government, the width of these roads will be increased from the existing three and a half meters to five and a half metres. This will facilitate the movement of large vehicles and will also reduce the possibility of accidents.

The special thing is that with the widening of these roads, access to markets, educational institutions, health centers and block headquarters will become more easy. In the survey conducted for the upgradation of rural roads, the maximum number of 38 roads have been included in Jagdishpur subdivision. Whereas, 22 roads have been selected in Ara Sadar subdivision and five roads have been selected in Piro subdivision.

The survey work of all these roads has been completed and the process of preparation of Detailed Project Report (DPR) by the concerned department is in the final stage.

It is being told that the roads which have been included in the scheme are important connectivity roads connecting rural areas with main roads and markets. Their widening will make it easier for farmers to transport their produce to the market, while students and patients will also get convenience in transportation.

Rural development will get a boost, road system will improve with the budget

With the new budget of Bihar government, this scheme is being considered as a big step towards rural development. Better road network will give impetus to economic activities in villages and new employment opportunities will also be created. Local people believe that widening of roads will reduce transportation costs and also save time.

According to the announcement in the budget, in the first phase, 65 roads in the district will be converted from single to double lane. This announcement will prove to open a new path of development for the district and will connect the villages with the mainstream of progress.
