State Bureau, Chandigarh. In Haryana, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has come on the attack, alleging that the pension of the elderly has been cut and that the players are not getting dietary allowance in sports nurseries. AAP's national media in-charge Anurag Dhanda claimed that 37 thousand players are forced to practice in sports nurseries without good nutrition. Pension of 75 thousand elderly people has been wrongly stopped.
While talking to journalists on Saturday, Dhanda said that most of the players who hoisted the country's tricolor in the Olympics, Commonwealth and Asian Games have emerged from this soil. Today the same players are asking whether the value of hard work and medals is limited only to garnering applause on election platforms.
Are the players left only for posters and speeches? The government, which is following the policy of "leaving the race ahead", is not paying for the diet of the players for the last 10 months. The trainers imparting training in nurseries have also not received salaries for the last 10 months.
He raised the question whether players should arrange for their diet or prepare for the game. Not only this, nurseries are being closed for two months in a year. Does any player prepare for an international medal by taking two months leave?
Regarding old age pension, Anurag Dhanda said that the state government is considering a farmer who sells crops worth Rs 3 lakh as rich. In reality, this also includes the crop cost of the farmer, which makes it difficult to run the household of the entire family.
At some places, the pension is being stopped by citing the earnings of the entire family in the family identity card, while at other places the pension is being cut on the basis of name, surname and age mismatch. The blame for the mistakes of the officials and the portal is being placed on the heads of the elderly.
In many places, the income of the entire family is being taken into consideration, whereas the income of the elderly has nothing to do with the family income. He demanded that Chief Minister Nayab Singh should immediately release Rs 10 crore for the diet of the players. Old age pension of all the elderly should be restored soon by stopping considering the sale of farmers' crops as income.
