Digital Desk, New Delhi. The Indian Air Force (IAF) on Thursday released to the world the firing video of the Russian-origin S-400 air defense missile system. In this video the missile is shown being fired. The Army described it as "the longest air kill in military history".
This video is directly reminiscent of Operation Sindoor launched against Pakistan in May last year. S-400 played an important role in Operation Sindoor and it shot down a Pakistan Air Force aircraft from inside Pakistani territory, about 300 kilometers away.

In the video, IAF has given a powerful message - "The enemy may be out of reach, but never out of sight." The footage shows the scene of detecting the enemy jet coming on the radar and then activating the air defense system.
However, it is worth noting that the footage of missile firing released is not the original of Operation Sindoor. This is a promotional video, which has been made for the Vayu Shakti Exercise to be held in Rajasthan tomorrow on 27th February. Nevertheless, the success of Operation Sindoor is clearly mentioned in it.
IAF Chief told the whole story of long range strike
In October last year, IAF Chief Air Chief Marshal AP Singh had shared the details of Operation Sindoor. He had said that in this operation, Indian forces destroyed or damaged at least a dozen Pakistani aircraft.
The IAF chief specifically mentioned one long-range hit - "We have clear evidence about 300 kilometers away. It was a signals intelligence plane of the Pak Air Force, along with five high-tech fighters of the F-16 and J-17 class that were targeted by our systems." All this was made possible by the newly introduced long-range surface-to-air missile system S-400.
