Digital Desk, Raipur. Now, along with teaching the children, teachers in the state will also keep an eye on the stray dogs roaming around the schools. The Directorate of Public Instruction has issued orders to the JDs and DEOs of all the districts and instructed them to appoint a nodal officer in each school.
According to the order, teachers will have to give information about stray dogs roaming in or around the school premises to the dog catcher of the Gram Panchayat, District Panchayat or Municipal Corporation. After this, with the help of the local administration, necessary steps will be taken to prevent the entry of dogs in the school. As soon as this instruction was issued, anger spread among the teachers.
Teachers Association expressed its opposition
Chhattisgarh Teachers Association district unit has termed the order as impractical and against teacher dignity. District President Dilip Sahu, State Organization Secretary Birbal Deshmukh, District Convenor Ramkishore Kharanshu, Kamta Prasad Sahu, Shiv Shandilya, Virendra Dewangan, Nilesh Deshmukh, Pawan Joshi, Kantu Ram Chandel, District Secretary Narendra Sahu and other officials have jointly lodged a protest.
It is inappropriate to give responsibility like guarding dogs
He says that teachers are already burdened with many non-teaching tasks, in such a situation it is unfair to give them responsibilities like monitoring stray dogs.
The association argues that monitoring and control of dogs is the job of the local administration, which is not right to be imposed on teachers. He said that teaching work in schools is already being disrupted and such additional responsibilities affect the working capacity of the teaching community.
