Amit Shah will participate in religious program at Mayapur ISKCON temple

State Bureau, Kolkata. Union Home Minister Amit Shah will on Wednesday make a brief visit to the ISKCON temple in Mayapur in Nadia district, bordering Bangladesh, to participate in a religious program.
His program does not include any kind of political activity. According to sources, the visit is purely religious and cultural and will be Shah's shortest visit to the state in recent months.
He will spend about two hours at the temple complex located in Nadia district. Mayapur is the world headquarters of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON).

As per the tentative schedule, Shah is expected to reach Kolkata airport in the afternoon and fly to Mayapur by helicopter. He will address the gathering at a program organized to commemorate the birth anniversary of the spiritual leader.
Organizers said that this program will be both religious and cultural and a large number of devotees are likely to participate in it.

BJP leaders said that no political meeting or rally is planned during this tour. However, several senior leaders of the Bengal unit of BJP are also expected to accompany him at the temple.
Inside the temple complex, the minister will pay floral tributes to ISKCON founder AC Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada and participate in rituals including prayers at the shrines of Lord Narasimha, Chaitanya Mahaprabhu and Radha-Madhava before joining the main programme.
