Jagran correspondent, Amritsar. In Amritsar, Punjab, a hawker father and son, who were going to Tadkasar Newspaper Center early in the morning, were robbed at gunpoint by two unknown bike riders. This entire incident took place under the shade of fog in the chicken-eating lane of Vijay Nagar in Batala Road. Hawkers Manohar Sharma and Shiv have given written complaint about the incident at Chowki Vijay Nagar.

Hawker Manohar Sharma informed the police that he was coming from his home Shambhu Colony towards Newspaper Center Caron Market, Amritsar. His son Shiv was on the Activa, while he was riding along on the bicycle. At 6 am there was complete fog in the area and it was difficult to see beyond 10 metres.

the motorcycle came forward and surrounded

Manohar Sharma and Shiv told that they had just reached the chicken eating street. Then two youths who came on a motorcycle surrounded them. They tried to make noise, then one of them took out the pistol kept in his waist and put it directly on his forehead. After this the accused searched both of them. The motorcycle of the accused was Splendor and was black in colour. Due to darkness they could not see the number plate of the motorcycle.

The accused took out cash from his pocket and left his mobile phone.

The accused themselves searched their pockets. He had about 4 to 5 thousand rupees in his pocket to buy the morning newspaper. Whom the accused took along. The accused also saw their mobile phones, but left them there. Shiv told that his identity card and important documents were in his purse, which the accused also took away.

Increasing incidents on Batala Road

Residents of the area said that incidents of robbery are being seen every day on Batala Road. In the morning, when the roads are empty due to fog and cold, these accused commit the crime. There is only one gang involved in black splendor and gun point robbery, which has been active in the area for a long time and the police is proving unsuccessful in catching them.
