Digital Desk, Ranchi. A round of allegations and counter-allegations is going on on X (Twitter) between independent MP Pappu Yadav (Rajesh Ranjan) from Purnia, Bihar and BJP MP Nishikant Dubey from Godda, Jharkhand.

Pappu Yadav has accused Dubey of being an agent of industrialists and spreading propaganda against the Nehru-Gandhi family. At the same time, Dubey hit back and claimed that Pappu Yadav was recently trying to join BJP.

This controversy is again bringing old rumors related to Pappu Yadav's political journey and BJP into discussion. Let us know the background of the dispute and the statements of both the leaders.

Posts and replies on X that started the controversy

The controversy started with an X post by Pappu Yadav on 22 February 2026, in which he mentioned industrialist Gautam Adani's visit to Deoghar.

Pappu Yadav wrote- "Today he came to Adani temple in Deoghar, then he went to MP, an agent of industrialists.

Brokering industrialists and spreading false propaganda against Nehru-Gandhi is the main business of that MP, it is clear from this meeting who is the investor of false propaganda against Gandhiji, Nehruji, Rahulji, Indiraji etc.!”

Responding to this, Nishikant Dubey posted on the same day - “Recently during the Parliament session, this same gentleman had come to meet me inside the Lok Sabha, his only request was to get me included in the BJP.

The grapes are sour, there must be some faith? Also tell people how much landholding our family owns in your constituency. Also tell us that my brother is the MLA from Purnia from the Congress party. Maintain the decorum of politics."

This exchange drew mixed reactions from the followers of both the MPs, with some supporting Dubey's claim and some emphasizing Pappu Yadav's political independence. The round of allegations and counter-allegations continues.

Rumors related to Pappu Yadav and BJP

Pappu Yadav's political journey started from the 1990s. He was associated with many parties, including Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD).

There were rumors of joining BJP after his expulsion from RJD in 2015. Media reports at that time said that Pappu Yadav was trying to approach the BJP, but the BJP made it clear that there would be no alliance.

In March 2024, Pappu Yadav merged his Jan Adhikar Party with Congress. However, due to seat sharing with RJD in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, he did not get the Congress ticket and contested and won as an independent from Purnia.

Pappu Yadav has criticized the BJP in recent months. In October 2025, he accused the BJP of weakening Nitish Kumar over the seat sharing of Bihar assembly elections.

In a post in January 2026, he called BJP a "very despicable party" and raised questions on women's safety. Also, he accused BJP-RSS of hating Dalits.

He also invited Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to join the grand alliance, claiming that the BJP was destroying him politically.

However, on some occasions he has been seen sharing the stage with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which has increased political speculation.

Nishikant taught the lesson of political decorum

Nishikant Dubey rejected Pappu Yadav's allegations and called it political jealousy. Dubey often attacks the opposition in Parliament and has been blaming the Nehru-Gandhi family.

In this dispute, he appealed to Pappu Yadav to maintain decorum in politics and mentioned his family's land holding in Purnia and his brother being an MLA from Congress.

Expert on both sides' positions

Pappu Yadav has not yet given a direct reply to Dubey's claim of joining BJP. His supporters are calling it a political conspiracy. At the same time, some BJP workers have expressed support on Dubey's statement.

Political analyst Omprakash Ashk believes that this controversy is related to the politics of Bihar. MPs should think carefully about their response. Anyone can say anything to go viral on the internet. This is not correct.

Pappu Yadav wants to join BJP, this can only be a rumour. These days Nishikant is expressing his views openly. Pappu calls himself a Congress worker and talks about the victory of the Grand Alliance on the vision of Rahul Gandhi.

On one hand, Pappu Yadav seems to be active in protecting the Nehru-Gandhi family, while his criticism of BJP and old rumors complicate his political position. Amid the controversy, parliamentary dialogue is expected between the two MPs.
